First time gun owner questions and getting a gun (legally) in Tampa, FL? ?

In Florida all you need to purchase any type of legal firearm is a valid Picture ID, you can walk into a gun shop show your drivers license and buy one you only need a CWP if you want to carry a firearm on your person. You did not specify whether you are male or female so if you are female i would recommend a small caliber like a 25 cal, but if you are male a 45 cal has the most stopping power for a hand gun. as far as other states the laws vary so much that you would need to check with any state you travel to, in New York all firearms are banned if you are not law enforcement so you need to check.~
