Why can't I hear out of both earbuds on my palm centro phone?

I am trying to use my mp3 player. I have purchased 3 different headsets and exchanged phones. I am not able to hear out of the left earbud. I am almost certain it is an issue with something I need to click or unclick. HELP!!! I''m getting frustrated.
