Ways to change the attitude of students at school in terms of littering?

When my husband was in high school (20 years ago....) his school cafeteria organized a campaign called, "Dunk your Junk." Several garbage cans were set up with basketball nets over them and it became cool to "dunk your junk." You'd have to come up with a recycling station as well. (Back in the early 90s that wasn't really an issue.) Good luck.
