Is the "Silent Treatment" permanent?

No it's not forever as long as you tell him what he wants to hear, but take some pride in yourself and don't let anyone unjustly put a guilt trip on you. If he were saying things true and serious then you should agree and apologize, that should make things better but if not then move on. Do yourself a favor.
